Former President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that he would be doing a live “play by play” response to President Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union on Thursday.
Trump said he would respond quickly to any claims made by Biden about the southern U.S. border, the Department of Justice, and the investigations into him. Biden and Trump are expected to face off in a rematch for the presidency in November after both racked up easy wins during Super Tuesday’s primary elections.
“I am pleased to inform you that tomorrow night we will be doing a LIVE, Play by Play, of Crooked Joe Biden’s State of the Union Address,” Trump posted on Truth Social on Wednesday. “I will correct, in rapid response, any and all inaccurate Statements, especially pertaining to the Border and his Weaponization of the DOJ, FBI, A.G.s, and District Attorneys, to go after his Political Opponent, ME (something never done before in this Country!). We did this once before to tremendous success – Beating All Records. It is important for the Country to get the TRUTH!”
During his address, Biden is expected to attack Trump, promote abortion rights, tout his economic record, advocate for more money to be sent to Ukraine, and address the illegal immigration crisis that has skyrocketed under his watch. Trump’s response will be live from his Truth Social platform.
In a later post, Trump called for Biden to debate him anywhere at any time.
“It is important, for the Good of our Country, that Joe Biden and I Debate Issues that are so vital to America, and the American People,” he said. “Therefore, I am calling for Debates, ANYTIME, ANYWHERE, ANYPLACE! The Debates can be run by the Corrupt DNC, or their Subsidiary, the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD). I look forward to receiving a response. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Trump posted a strong performance in Tuesday’s primary elections, winning 14 of 15 states and only losing Vermont. He defeated Nikki Haley by wide margins across the South and picked up substantial wins in states like California, Minnesota, Massachusetts, and Maine.
Recent polling has shown Trump with leads over Biden in key swing states even as Biden’s approval rating remains near record lows. Polling from Gallup showed that nearly 70% of Americans disapprove of Biden’s handling of immigration, while 62% disapprove of his response to the war between Israel and Hamas.
