I think it’s an honest accident that really could have happened to anyone. Very scary to have fallen into it. It depends on what kind of wood was used to cover it up. I’ve never seen a burial with such a giant gaping hole that folks had to step into! That’s insane and very dangerous. I’ve only seen burials where you stand along the outside of the hole (safely).
