Clots Spark Alarm in Pennsylvania Funeral Homes

Clots are showing up in a shocking number of bodies. Funeral directors in Pennsylvania now report these mysterious white fibrous clots in 30 to 40 percent of cases. They’ve never seen anything like it. The find has people asking tough questions. It started around spring 2021. Yet many wonder why this issue gets so little attention from health officials.

The Start of These Strange Clots

Christopher Calvey Jr. serves as a licensed embalmer and ran the Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association as president in 2024 and 2025. He works at Jennings-Calvey Funeral Home in Waverly. Calvey says he sees these unusual clots in a large share of bodies he prepares. However, they look nothing like normal blood clots. They appear stringy and white, and they are called “calamari clots” because of their appearance. Meanwhile, he notes the problem began right after the COVID vaccine rollout. Calvey calls them foreign bodies never seen before in his career.

A Leading Embalmer Speaks Out About Clots

Calvey shared his firsthand experience in a recent interview. He explained that the clots can fill arteries and reach large sizes. Therefore, you cannot ignore them during embalming. He also pointed to rising heart attacks and strokes in younger people. Still, Calvey spoke only from his own observations. The association itself has not taken an official stand on the matter. Yet his words match reports from other embalmers across states dating back to 2021.

Scientists Weigh In On The Fibrous Clots

Pathologists explain that some white material forms after death when blood separates. However, experts also know COVID infection caused heavy clotting in many patients before vaccines arrived. Meanwhile, a few studies explore spike protein effects on blood. They look at tiny resistant clots in lab tests. Yet no large peer-reviewed research confirms a brand-new 30 to 40 percent spike tied directly to vaccines. However, most public health studies are funded by Big Pharma, and critics point out that they are hesitant to research the issue. Health agencies have not commented on Calvey’s specific claims. These reports of clots in Pennsylvania bodies highlight a troubling pattern since 2021. Embalmers with years on the job keep raising red flags based on what they see daily. At the same time, the public still waits for clear answers from those in charge. What steps should leaders take now to fully investigate these clots and restore trust?
