A quiet day turned into terror at Espada Park. Indian illegal immigrant, Atharva Vyas, launched a vicious unprovoked attack on a mother and her three year old daughter. Vyas grabbed the mom by her hair and punched her in the face. Then he pinned the toddler down and bit her face repeatedly. This savage act caused the child to lose her two front teeth. Brave bystanders tackled Vyas right away. However, the family now faces a long road to healing from the trauma.
Vyas Assault Shocks Everyone at the Scene
The attack happened around two in the afternoon on April eighteenth at Espada Park. Gabriella Perez walked with her daughter Amelia while the family fished nearby. Vyas emerged from the woods in a frenzied state and targeted them randomly. He caused the mother to fall after the punch. Meanwhile, the toddler suffered deep scratches and bite wounds to her face. Witnesses said it looked like a scene from a zombie movie. One bystander tackled Vyas and held him until officers arrived. Therefore, paramedics evaluated both victims quickly at the scene. The three year old received treatment at Christus Childrens Hospital. But her mother reports the child now shows anger and fear of sleep. As a result, the family created a GoFundMe to help with recovery.

Immigration Failures Let Criminal Stay in US
Vyas first entered the United States legally back in August of twenty twenty three on a student visa. He got arrested for felony assault on the University of Texas campus three months later. However, the previous administration reviewed it and chose not to deport him. They decided the crime was not egregious enough for action. Therefore, he remained in the country. His visa got revoked in April of twenty twenty five. Yet Vyas stayed illegally afterward. The Department of Homeland Security described the prior handling as a failure in immigration enforcement. This entire situation was completely preventable. Many patriots point to it as proof of dangerous gaps in border security.
DHS Calls Out the Barbaric Nature of Vyas Actions
Federal officials called the assault barbaric and outrageous. They stressed that prior immigration enforcement failures allowed it to happen. As a result, ICE lodged a detainer for Vyas on the day of his arrest. Vyas now faces charges including injury to a child with intent to cause harm. He also stands accused of assault and illegal entry. Police took him into custody at the Bexar County Detention Center immediately. Meanwhile, the victims continue to deal with physical and emotional pain. Therefore, the Department of Homeland Security offers support resources for crime victims. But the focus stays on ensuring Vyas never endangers American families again. This case serves as a wake up call for better controls at the border. This Vyas incident highlights the serious risks of weak immigration policies. It turned a normal park outing into a life changing nightmare for one family. However, it also raises awareness about the need for stronger enforcement. Americans deserve to feel safe in their communities. Patriots across the nation demand immediate action to secure our future. What must happen now to stop future tragedies like this one and put our citizens first?
